ARTIST STATEMENT

Making a tapestry is my passion. Given only two working elements; the warp and the weft, I am fascinated by the myriad design possibilities. Within this simple grid format, all the basic elements; color, shape, line, and texture, come together to complete my artistic expression.

My materials are organic, and I permit my tapestries to move in a natural way into the third dimension, abandoning the traditional rectangular tapestry format. I use a variety of weaving techniques to foster the "organic-ness" of the materials. The possibilities are infinite, and I continue to explore.
