Artist Statement

Through my work, I invite the viewers to consider some of the challenging environmental and social issues of our time. My aim is to present the same issues that flood the daily news, which are numerous, complicated, and daunting, in a manner that encourages engagement rather than avoidance. By working in “traditionally feminine” craft, such as embroidery and joomchi which encapsulates many meditative hours, I hope to provide unhurried space that allows for reflections on and the digestion of these pressing issues. Ultimately, I hope that my work empowers viewers to advocate for change.
