Artist’s Statement:

People watching has turned into a need for me to express, with my art,  the range of emotions and conditions I see, as each person deals with daily events and dramas. As those feelings evolve, I try to capture them permanently, in metal. My Entropy series reacts to our society, our environment, and to cultural values put on trial.  As I translate ideas into art forms, I aim to promote awareness, or plant seeds for reflection and change.

Being born and raised in horse country in Michigan, I grew up living close to nature. Trees, gardens and animals were part of everyday life and my earlier art reflects that close connection. I graduated Michigan State University in Psychology and continued with graduate studies in Business and Psychology after moving to California, where I worked in the business world, developing management teams and resolving conflicts in large organizations. This focus on how people react and relate continues to drive the content of my recent art.
